“Then Sings My Soul” speaking at CIU

Speaking today for Ben Lippen Missionary School and tomorrow for Chapel at CIU, in Columbia, SC, the Seminary where I came to the foot of the Cross some 30 years ago. Please be in prayer that the Lord will put His words in my mouth, and give the students hearts that hear.

Below is an excerpt from CIU News (Spring 2015)

“I have seen it all, and I can testify as one who is getting older and older that it gets better and better,” Thomas said. “Why is that? Because we are walking closer and closer to [God].”

Thomas encouraged CIU students to seek God through music and worship, which — even though she’s deaf — are comforting to her, as she feels the vibrations of the music.

“God has created the music in every one of us, whether we’re deaf or hearing,” Thomas said. “Never be afraid to sing adoration and praise to the Creator.”

  1. Sue:
I just wanted to say how much a true blessing you are to me in many ways. You and I were both born in 1950. My birthday is May 20th. I have an identical twin. My name is Suzanne and my twin’s name is Suzette.

I am soon to take a trip to Jacksonville, Florida to spend two weeks with my best friend Paige. She is also deaf and reads lips. She found out she was deaf at two years of age. Her parents were a blessing as yours were to you. She completed college and is now retired. Her field was in the medical field as a records analyst within a hospital in Jacksonville where she and I met. The Lord truly blessed me upon meeting her. We spent many good time together and continue to cherish our friendship.

I will continue to pray for you and your ministry. Always remember only say what The Lord says about you…you are more than a “conquerer” through Jesus Christ. You are truly loved by so many as a Sister-in-Christ.

    Blessings….Suzanne Harlan

    1. Happy Birthday…and it was great to meet you at the Prayer Conference at EI in Greenville. Perhaps we will meet again soon. Meanwhile, continue to serve Him by bringing the Good News to the physically deaf and also the spiritually deaf!

  3. Hello Sue,

Enjoyed getting this post! Any chance CIU would post a script along with their podcast for Deaf people to access, as well? Would love to read what you said in its entirety.

Hope this finds you and Deb well. Think of y’all often.

    Love, Jana
