As a witness of God’s grace on the journey of life…

  • God is answering!

    God is answering!

Many thanks for your belief in my dream of building the Manna House at WaterBrooks this coming spring! Your fervent prayers for God’s blessing on Project 7 are being answered by each one of the donations that keeps coming in. The total giving this far is $3,174.15. We praise God! But it is such a long way from the $200,000.00 that we need by this spring! Please, please pray for your potential giving to Project 7, And help us to spread the word, thereby bringing this dream into reality.  Your prayers sustained me when I couldn’t breathe with lung cancer and the Lord has healed me. When I was on the ventilator with Covid, your prayers saved my life. I believe he still has a purpose for my life and I know your prayers for Project 7 will help bring it to pass. Please consider giving a one time gift of $7.00 or even making it monthly. You can even be creative with a larger gift with any multiple number using 7 in it. Many, many, thanks for your ongoing prayers and support! You prayed and God answered by giving a designated gift specifically for our John Deere Gator’s new seats!  We now pray for a donation for our greatly needed wood chipper. The prayer of a righteous man brings for much. We will continue to keep you posted as your prayers being answered climbing to our $200,000.00 need for this spring. We will not take out any loans and trust God to bring forth! This is His project for His glory and we believe that He will continue to move us forward with your help.

    Have a glorious day,

    Sue and Deb

  • Project 7 Kick Off!!!

    Project 7 Kick Off!!!

The excitement of Project 7 is in the air as the response are starting to come in, today’s total is $1,103.77!!! It’s amazing to see how the number 7 popped up. We had a faithful husband and wife commit to $777.77!!!

Please pray in earnest for the success of Project 7, remember, I was only asking you for a one time gift of $7.00 or monthly commitment of any amount with the number 7 in it.

Please pray that these needs be meet to help us build WaterBrooks:

1 – new John Deere Gator yellow seats for our Gator, the cost is about $200 for both.

    Our worn out seats

2 – Professional wood chipper that cost $5,000 new. This will save a lot of time and energy as well as help to beautify under the trees and along the paths. Pray that someone has a used one that they don’t need anymore and will donate the chipper to the ministry.

an example of a wood chipper

We desperately need both to be used this spring as we begin to break ground for the Manna House. Many, many thanks for your prayers for the success of Project 7 and your support to make it successful!!

May the golden splendor of God rays shine upon you this fall,

And The Provision of the Cross

The excitement level is off the charts as we finished our Labor Day weekend with volunteers!! So much ground was covered and blessings kept arriving in the form of hardy volunteers with chain saws and a tractor! The blessed donation of two telephone poles for our Cross on the island was such an answer to your prayers. My prayer also was that we would have telephone poles for Saturday’s workday and at 6:00 p.m. Saturday evening a long trailer arrived with two telephone poles the exact lengths that we need! It seems that one of our volunteers knew someone who knew someone locally that had them in storage. We have not met this giver but we bless the Lord for him.

Our solid oak Cross which was taken from a tree on our land 12 years ago, showed the wear of the mountain elements as one of the arms broke off during the winter. I was in the hospital at the time and so the news was not revealed to me until the spring. It has been my prayer since then that we could replace that Cross as it is not only a landmark for WaterBrooks, but also a testimony of our Christian faith in this spiritually dark corner of New England. Now with the new logs on the land soon to be shaped into the Cross, It again shows that God answers prayer right on time and for His glory and the hope of His people!

Building on our faith, as we’ve experienced how God answers prayer, we have new needs to be met through prayer. This weekend we learned we need 2 new Gator seats for our widely used John Deere Gator. The Gator itself also needs a new tune up. The button for the dump in the back only works part of the time. We need to get this Gator back up so it can work in full-time Christian service again!

We are excited to announce our newest program, Project 7. The Biblical number 7 signifies Completion and the Lord has laid it on my heart that if people will just donate donating any amount including the number 7, He will indeed Complete the Manna House at Waterbrooks!!!!

I honestly believe that if everyone that knew the name Sue Thomas through my speaking, or reading my books, watching my video or TV series FBEye, would give $7 each, the Manna House would be built and paid for without any building loans whatsoever!

Sue Thomas Ministries is a registered 501c3, so your gift of any amount is tax deductible

What is the Manna House? It is the first dwelling structure that we want to build. It would be a large covered pavilion which would host our volunteers for meals or even allow small groups up to 40 people to come for a day retreat at WaterBrooks. This pavilion would have a closed in professional kitchen and gathering room area, along with two restrooms. Behind the kitchen would be a bedroom or two with handicap accessible bathroom attached, and a loft area above the closed in kitchen part would give us on-site sleeping accommodations for volunteers. Finally!!! The handicap accessible bedroom would be a place for me to live when at Water Brooks. Our previous living situation is no longer doable with my many health challenges. We have spent many happy summers in a primitive little cabin with no electricity or running water, but now we are looking forward to this next phase of civilization!

Would you prayerfully consider giving a one time donation of $7.00 or or make a monthly pledge of $7? You could also give in any series of sevens. 7×7=49 for example. Or $77. Or $700, which is 7 one hundred times! Or if God lays it on your heart to give $7,000 that would finance a larger part of the building project.Help me spread the word! We are reaching out, not only to those who have been involved with WaterBrooks, but also as I mentioned before, to everyone that is familiar with the name Sue Thomas, through the TV series, speaking, or books and DVDs.

Now you can Text to Give

Simply text the word Give with the amount (e.g. Give 100) to

WaterBrooks is the ministry closest to my heart as it is a ministry with prayer at its heart. I have seen what God will do through prayer, and you have seen what God has done through prayer! Please pray with me that God will bring His people alongside to help us build WaterBrooks.

Please also pray for the local men who will be shaping the telephone poles into the Cross over the next few weeks. I would like to see that finished Cross on the property of WaterBrooks before we leave here for the winter. In the spring we hope to raise that Cross on the little island on the pond in front of the cabin. It may take a crane as it is very very heavy. The tall pole is 23 feet and the cross beam is 15 ft fully soaked with creosote. This is much too heavy for a group of men to raise with their bare hands.

We excitedly await the completion of Project 7 and the raising of that Cross. Our prayer is that both could be accomplished quickly. After all, the Lord only needed six days to create the world and on the 7th day He rested! Once these two projects are completed, we will also say, “behold, it is good” and then we, too, will rest!

May our Lord richly bless you!

  • The Day Of Trouble

    The Day Of Trouble

    PSALM 20

May the Lord answer you in the day of trouble; May the name of the God of Jacob defend you;  May He send you help from the Sanctuary and strengthen you out of Zion. May He remember all of your offerings and accept your burnt sacrifices.
May He grant you according to your heart’s desire, and fulfill all of your purpose.
We will rejoice in your salvation, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners! May the Lord fulfill all your petitions
Now I know that the Lord saves His anointed; He will answer him from His holy heaven with the saving strength of his right hand.
Some trust in chariots, and some in horses; but we will remember the name of the Lord our God.
They have bowed down and fallen but we have risen and stand upright.
    SAVE, LORD!
May the king answer us when we call!

The moment Deb realized that Covid-19 had invaded our house, Psalm 20 became the prayer on her lips. From the midnight call for 911 because of my respiratory failure, to making snap decisions over the phone with the ER doctor to go ahead and put me on a ventilator to breathe, the prayer of Psalm 20 went up before the Lord with an agonizing heartcry before expanding and breathing out to thousands of people that prayed with her that the petition that God had laid on her heart would be a promise fulfilled. That He would indeed hear and answer with the assurance of God’s saving work.

One lone solitary voice stood charge keeping a watch both day and night with that prayer upon her lips and her heart beating with the plea that God would be merciful and spare the life of her beloved friend.

My life was so lifted up and prayed over with confidence that God would not only hear but answer the Psalm He laid upon her heart. That voice of one grew to a chorus of thousands of voices all over the world. Those combined voices would raise up in adoration and praise thus through thanksgiving a divine healing would touch the life that had been so broken and torn to new life. Yes, I now realize I am a walking miracle known as the miracle child at the hospital!  All because we have a great God who hears and answers the prayers of his children!

The past few weeks have muddled into a blur.  I was conscious of very little going on around me. I do not remember much of my time in ICU because I was put into an induced coma so I would not attempt to pull the large plastic respirator tube out of my throat.

There were two lives going into battle at the same time. My brother, Paul, who is ten years older than me was apparently across the hall within the same ICU unit. I had no idea. Both of us were clinging to life, unconscious, with mechanical breathing.

Paul lost his battle forty eight hours after he started to hemorrhage and they couldn’t find a source or get it stopped. His organs began to shut down and he breathed his last.

But the Lord had different plans for me. I continued I stabilize and showed improvements in the blood work and x-rays.During the evening visitor hours Deb would tried to communicate with me by signing through the ICU window or writing on a whiteboard.  I couldn’t figure out why she was standing outside the window with a sign. I remember that sign! It was just yesterday that I finally asked her about it and she told me it was because she could not come into the room to be with me! And because she was in the hallway, she had to wear a mask over her mouth.

After I was moved out of ICU to the stepdown floor, both she and Rodney were allowed to stay 24 hours in the room with me. She did not have to wear a mask in the room and this definitely helped with communication.

I have no memory of the night the Rapid Response Team was called to my room.  Apparently, I also had a GI hemorrhage, like my brother did, to the point where they couldn’t even find a blood pressure and my eyes became fixed and unresponsive. I remember nothing of the fast-paced action that was taking place around me. I can barely comprehend how close to death I was and how God heard the cry of that single heart in that moment of time and He reached down and spared my life once again.

3 days later they discharged me because they could find no reason to keep me! I have been home 2 1/2 weeks and steadily growing stronger in every way. My oxygen is only on 1 liter and the pulse oximeter shows at 99 to 100%. I practice blowing my “ball”, my incentive spirometer, at 800 to 1000 with it continually growing higher with each breath. My last PET Scan on January 19th showed no evidence of the metabolic activity of my stage four lung cancer! I haven’t breathed this well since last March, a whole year ago!!

The worst thing that I’m dealing with today is extreme  weakness in my legs where I am now at six weeks being bedfast and have not been able to stand on my feet. But I am done being a hospital rag doll, and I can sit and roll and turn all on my own now. And I do truly believe that my legs will be restored and I just need to work harder on the exercises to strengthen them.

Deb says that one day soon we should walk back into that hospital ICU to thank the doctors and nurses, and to let them see what God has done through them in my life!  She overheard one of my nurses saying, the day that I was being discharged to the regular floor, that I was her first Covid patient to actually successfully get off of the ventilator. I think they need encouragement in ICU!

So, if you are one of those who prayed for me during this time, I thank you!

“And this is the confidence that we have toward Him, that if we ask anything according to His will He hears us. And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of Him.” 1 John 5:14

  • Thankful Hearts

    Thankful Hearts

To our dearest friends and supporters,

Your love and support shown to us has truly been a gift of God during this journey with stage four lung cancer. Each of you in your own way has ministered to us both and sustained us with your Prayers. Your on-going prayers for Deborah have sustained her and given her the strength she so needs to nurse me and restore my health, and from the bottom of our hearts, we thank you for upholding us before the Throne of the Lord.

The announcement of good news came from my oncologist three month visit that the chemotherapy is working and the tumors are shrinking. Praise God For Whom All Blessings Flow!!!!

We now focus on life and the dreams of Sue Thomas Ministries and ask that you will join us at our Prayers for the desires of our heart. That desire was shared with me today when a gift was sent in honor of our celebration with the good news of the chemotherapy. With the gift came a note card that held the desire of our hearts, pray this for us please, “Breathe on me breath of God, fill me with life anew, That I may love what Thou  dost love, And do what Thou wouldst do.” This is our prayer…our humble plea that our very breath will be for He!

We pray for Sue Thomas Ministries as it continues to grow and become with WaterBrooks, the refuge of Prayer in the 113 acres of the Green Mountain wilderness. Pray, our friends, that this will be the year we build our first dwelling.

Deb and I have lived in a tiny log cabin without any electricity or running water for 16 years as we have cleared and carved out the building sites and obeyed God’s first command that He gave to man, “Take care of the garden”. After 16 years, my stage four lung cancer does not permit me to go back to the cabin due to using oxygen and having no electricity. It is time to build and we move forward with anticipation and praise.

The structure that you see below is what we hope to work with and what we are calling The Bethany House. It is a multi functional building that will hold our first guest room with bath on the bottom floor for WaterBrooks guests along with 3 car garage for grounds-keeping equipment, tractor, work area and such. The upstairs will hold an apartment area where Deb and I can live while developing and maintaining WaterBrooks. This now opens up the little log cabin for WaterBrooks use, rather than personal living space. This is how we start and this is how we grow!

Hereafter, our desire is to add only 5 to 7 individual Prayer cottages throughout the property for people to come away for a while to rest as Christ did and encouraged his disciples to do.

“Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.”

    Mark.6.31

Remember, Waterbrooks is a different kind of place set apart for the glory of God and the hope of His people. It is a refuge of Prayer for men and women to come to be alone with God in the silence and to sit and be still and know that He is God. When you check in for either a day, weekend or weekly retreat, you leave your cell phones behind and computers and anything that is electric. You bring only your Bible, hymn book journal, or devotional books. You will have totally quiet time to unplug In order to be recharged while sitting beneath the Shadow of the Almighty or  while walking and talking with God on the handicapped accessible trails throughout the 113 acres.

Please pray, friends, that we can start immediately as calls have been placed to put the septic system and the well in immediately.

Pray as our Board of Directors meets by Zoom this Friday, October 24th at 11:00am. Pray for discernment, harmony and unity for this meeting and for the board to lead Sue Thomas Ministries to be all that God wants it to be and to do all things that God wants us to do.

We have approached three new churches seeking monthly missions support to help us build.  Please pray for these churches that we might find favor with God answering our prayers. Pray also for new monthly supporters because it so helps us to know what kind of funds we have to work with.

So very much is happening all at a time when I am simply called to JUST BREATHE that I can’t contain my excitement!!

The documentary of WaterBrooks is currently being finished that we will have this tool to show the world and introduce them to what lies in our Green Mountains where God will meet His people. Pray for the completion of the documentary and God’s blessings upon it as released to His people that it will help generate more interest and support for this ministry.

Operation Silent Night continues to grow and move forward with volunteers continuing the desire to serve our homeless. We have received a $1,000.00 donation of dry goods for baking from the Mormons Storehouse this year and our annual cookies platters will once again be offered to raise funds for the homeless. Each year the baking is getting more and more with 15 cookie bakers working three straight days the week before Christmas to bake all the platters of cookies. Last year they did 1,000 dozen cookies!

GORANTS CHOCOLATIER has joined their support in the building of WaterBrooks!! I will be writing more on this later but if you love a rich piece of fine Chocolate then you simply must try Gorants!!! Gorants Chocolates are the east coast gem like Sees Candies are tothe west coast! Ordering from the Gorant’s Chocolatier website using the WaterBrooks code will help donate a portion of your purchase for the building of WaterBrooks! More  to come on this candy project!

I am a bit shaky after writing such a blessing to you, so very much is happening and I am alive and breathing in answer to your Prayers. We can’t thank you enough for your love and support and to where we are today, we pray you will continue and to help us grow and become.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you, bless you,

    Sue and Deb (and Rodney)
