Pauses of Praise

in

The Lord continuously surrounds us with snapshots of serenity and stillness.

For you, it might not be the lakeview such as I had this morning. Maybe for you it’s in a single golden leaf glowing in the afternoon sun outside your kitchen window, the perfection of the pumpkin on your porch, or seeing evidence of your breath as you’re scraping the frosted windshield.

In those moments don’t rush through headlong into the next thing.

Press the pause button, then close your eyes and take a deep breath. Exhale slowly. Now open your eyes and tell the Lord what you see and thank Him for reminding you that He is God.

It only takes a few sacred silent seconds of inwardly praising God to refocus your entire day.

I need these pauses of praise. They ground my heart, reconnect my soul, and put a smile on my lips. They lift my spirit above the troubles of this world and remind me of my larger purpose for the day, to glorify Him!

So very true. Whether in the middle of a large city or out in the country, He offers us many messages of serenity. Psalm 46:10. Be still, and know I am God.
